Union with Christ
The purpose of all that Christ did was that Christians might be united in Him and live together with Him (1 Thessalonians 5:10). The union is like that of a head and a body, a husband and a wife, a foundation to a building and lots more. Through being with Christ, God gives us every possible spiritual benefit.
Adoption by God into His family
Before the creation of the world, God chose Christians in Christ to become his Holy and blameless children to live within his constant care. God’s love has caused him to bestow upon those who receive His son, the right to become his Children.
Christ came to proclaim freedom for captives and release from darkness for prisoners. When Christ sets us free, we are free indeed.
A Spiritual right to the sacraments of the new Covenant
The first sacrament of the new covenant is baptism which symbolizes repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus. The second sacrament is the Lord’s Supper which is a continual reminder of Christ’s sacrifice to Christians.
